Coroner's inquest in Kimmirut, Nunavut, to look into man's death in 2019

Nunavut's chief coroner gave notice of the inquest on Tuesday. It will examine the circumstances around the death of George Arlooktoo, who died on Feb. 9, 2019.

A coroner's inquest will be held next week in Kimmirut, Nunavut, looking into a death that happened six years ago.

The territory's chief coroner gave notice of the inquest on Tuesday. It will examine the circumstances around the death of George Arlooktoo, who died on Feb. 9, 2019.

The notice gave no other details about Arlooktoo's death or the reason for the inquest. CBC News contacted the coroner's office and has not had a reply.

The inquest is scheduled to start on Monday at 10 a.m. and continue through until next Friday, April 4. It will be held at the Akavak Center in Kimmirut.

It will be presided over by the territory's chief coroner, Dr. Micheal Foote.
