Coming to the N.W.T. with a bang, all the way from Japan, comes the Tokara drum group from May 5 to 10.
The Northern Arts and Cultural Centre (NACC) is bringing this new take on traditional Taiko drumming to Fort Simpson, Hay River, Fort Smith and Yellowknife. What sets Tokara apart from other Taiko groups is the inclusion of dance and martial arts movements; as well as a mixture of different beats from across the musical and cultural spectrum.
There will also be an opening act by the N.W.T.'s Skyfire Taiko.
