Alberta police to review complaint against Fort Resolution RCMP

The Medicine Hat Police Service will review the investigation of a complaint against a Mountie in Fort Resolution, N.W.T., RCMP announced Wednesday.

Margo Edjericon says an officer elbowed her 71-year-old mother in the face and pinned her against the wall when two officers came into the house looking for a young woman.

On Tuesday, the RCMP stated they had completed an internal investigation of the incident, led by a staff sergeant from Yellowknife, and a review of the investigation by an external agency had been ordered.

The officer in question remains on duty in the community.
