2 children on bicycles hit by vehicle in Whitehorse

Two children were taken to hospital in Whitehorse on Tuesday after they were hit by a vehicle while riding their bicycles.

Two children were taken to hospital in Whitehorse on Tuesday after they were hit by a vehicle while riding their bicycles.

In a news release, RCMP say the collision happened at the intersection of Heron Drive and Hamilton Boulevard, near the Arkell neighbourhood, just before 3:30 p.m.

Police say the two children were taken Whitehorse General Hospital. They gave no details about injuries.

A section of Hamilton Boulevard was closed for four hours on Tuesday while emergency officials responded to the incident.

Police are still investigating but say alcohol or drug impairment was not a factor in the collision.
