WAM Picks: MusicNL takes over St. John's
MusicNL honours its best this weekend, and St. John's will be alive with performances. There's plenty more on the agenda, too.
Friday
George Jones Tribute Featured vocalists Bob MacDonald and Karla Pilgrim bring this class country music to the stage, along with musicians Sandy Morris, Craig Young, Chris LeDrew, Scott Mansfield and Brian Way at the Arts and Culture Centre at 8 p.m.
Theatre - In a Forest - A Neil Labute play directed by Republic of Doyle's Steve O'Connell with theatre veterans Jill Kennedy and Neil Butler in a dark, comedic test of the familial bond at 8 p.m. at the Barbara Barrett Theatre.
Gallery 24 - the opening reception of Source Materials, featuring all new work from Noah Bender, Bennie Allain and VANL-CARFAC's 2015 emerging artist of the year – Kyle Bustin at 6:30 p.m.

Sinfonia #1 – Concertmaster Heather Kao joins the NSO Sinfonia for Mozart's Concerto No. 5, Sommers' Little Suite for String Orchestra on Canadian Folk Songs and Grieg's Holberg Suite at the D.F. Cook Recital Hall at Memorial University 8 p.m.
Shakespearean Feast – A three-course medieval feast featuring musical and theatrical entertainment, a dress up photo booth, raffles and auctions. All proceeds support the 24th annual Shakespeare by the Sea festival. Ecole des Grands Vents at 6:30 p.m.
