Pink and purple

The vigil is open to the public and those wishing to attend are asked to wear pink and purple, Quinn's favourite colours.

Photos flooded social media on Thursday of people across Newfoundland and Labrador wearing pink and purple clothing in tribute to the young girl.

Quinn Butt's body was found in the Carbonear house of her father, Trent Butt, early Sunday morning, when fire officials responded to a fire. Responders could not revive her.

A bus will be also be operating to bring people from Carbonear to Harbour Grace. The bus will be leaving Paddy's Garden at 7:30 p.m. and heading to St. Francis Field.

Rather than flowers, the family is asking for donations in Quinn's memory to be made to the Iris Kirby Foundation.

The foundation provides shelter for women and children in abusive relationships and also operates the O'Shaughessy House shelter in Carbonear.

Trent Butt remains in hospital at the Health Sciences Centre in serious condition. Judge David Orr visited Butt's hospital room on Tuesday to charge him with with first-degree murder and arson.

Police have alleged that Butt killed his daughter before setting fire to his own home. Few other details about the case have been released.
