After winning Set for Life, Lynn and Jim Yetman plan to get rid of a few things, including mortgage and credit card debt.

"I can't explain how I'm feeling at this moment. It's amazing to be debt-free. Freedom at 55!" said Lynn Yetman on Monday at a news conference announcing the Mount Pearl couple's win.

The couple also plan to buy a few things: in addition to the already-purchased new SUV, there are plans for a family vacation — and more lottery tickets.

Lynn Yetman said she was feeling sad the morning she walked into a Marie's Mini Mart and bought a scratch ticket that won her $50. Yetman bought $50 worth of tickets, including five Set for Life tickets, before going back to her home-care business, A New Beginning. From those tickets, Yetman won $14.

Office manager brought back more tickets

"My office manager, he was going over for a drink around 3 o'clock, he said, 'Do you need anything?' I said, 'Yeah, pick me up some Set for Life. I said, 'Three Set for Life and two one-dollar Nevadas.'"

When the office manager brought them back, she had no success with the first few tickets.

"I started scratching. I said, 'No luck on you,' after scratching two, and the last one I scratched: [it said] 'set for life, set for life, set for life'!"

Already bought new Cadillac

When she called her husband, Jim, Yetman said she was so overwhelmed, he couldn't understand her. And when she was finally able to tell him she'd won Set for Life, he didn't believe it at first.

The Yetmans opted for Set for Life's $675,000 lump-sum option instead of the $1,000 a week for 25 years. She said she's already paid off her credit card, and the Yetmans plan to pay off their mortgage.

They've already bought themselves a brand-new Cadillac, and are planning a family vacation with their two children and three grandchildren.

I will always play Set for Life.- Lynn Yetman

Lynn Yetman said she'll continue to keep playing Set for Life.

"I have two winners in my purse right now, waiting to get checked," she said. "I will always play Set for Life."

It's the eighth Set for Life win in Newfoundland and Labrador in the last 15 months.
