The prices of most fuels are up across Newfoundland and Labrador Thursday as the Public Utilities Board continues a gradual increase in the base price of gasoline, diesel, furnace oil and propane.

The price of gasoline increased by 0.2 cents per litre across much of Newfoundland, although there are two exceptions. Customers in the pricing zones of Gaultois, McCallum and Recontre East and Grey River, François, Grand Bruit and La Poile — the most expensive region to buy gas on the island— will see a 0.3 cent per litre decrease.

A decrease of one cent per litre was also implemented in Labrador West and Churchill Falls.

The adjustments put gas prices on the Avalon Peninsula at a maximum of $1.733 per litre. Prices across the rest of Newfoundland are between $1.73 and just over $1.87 per litre and between $1.73 and $2.16 per litre in Labrador.

Diesel increased across much of the province by 2.9 cents per litre, and by 1.7 cents per litre in Labrador West and Churchill Falls. Maximum prices for the fuel now range between $2.01 and $2.13 per litre in Newfoundland and between $1.81 and $2.25 per litre in Labrador.

The price of furnace oil increased by just under 2.5 cents per litre, meaning customers in Newfoundland will pay maximum prices between $1.33 and $1.51 per litre, depending on their location.

The price of stove oil in Labrador increased by just under 2.3 cents per litre, putting prices between $1.20 and $1.69 per litre across the region.

Propane increased by 2.7 cents per litre across the province. The change means maximum prices now range between $1.17 and $1.32 per litre in Newfoundland and between $1 and $1.45 per litre in Labrador.
