The City of St. John's is laying out its vision for the next four years in a new strategic plan.

The strategic plan document, which was unveiled at Monday evening's regular council meeting, was written after extensive public consultation. It sets out the city's core values as well as challenges for the years ahead.

Coun. Dave Lane says all of council's decisions and strategies will now flow directly from the plan.

"They've set a very simple vision, and also a set of values we can all look to and remind ourselves of as we do the day to day business of running this city," he told the council chambers Monday.

"I think that's going to help us to not only run the city very well, but will result in a city that we truly do love to live in. Which we already have, but now it's going to be all the better because of this plan."

The city's overall plan has been posted online, and a paper copy of the plan is available from City Hall.
