Nary a Gary; CBC's Gary Moore ponders why his name is in decline

According to a recent list of the top 100 baby names in Canada, the name 'Gary' has very much fallen out of style - which doesn't sit well with CBC's Gary Moore.
Gary Moore, who works with CBC in Corner Brook, is perturbed that his first name may be falling out of style.

Everyone knows that trendy baby names come and go. One year it's Ethan, the next it's Jack or Liam, but one particular name that seems to almost be on the endangered species list is Gary.

According to a recent list of the top 100 baby names in Canada, done by Today's Parent magazine, the name Gary has very much fallen out of style.

The once-popular name has now taken such a backseat to newer, trendier names that it doesn't even crack the top 100.

To illustrate, in 1984 there were 25 newborns in Newfoundland and Labrador named Gary. Compare that to 2014, where not one single baby was given the name.

These facts are not sitting well with CBC's Gary Moore, and he took to the radio on Monday to explain why.
