Muskrat Falls subcontractor issued stop-work order by OHS
Astaldi Canada has confirmed that an electrical subcontractor at the Muskrat Falls work site has been issued a stop-work order by provincial Occupational Health and Safety officials.
In a statement, Astaldi, the main contractor at the Muskrat Falls site, said the order centres on concerns related to temporary electrical infrastructure work.
Iskueteu, the contractor that was issued the order, is an aboriginal limited partnership specializing in construction and operations support for industrial projects based primarily in Labrador.
Astaldi says construction at Muskrat Falls is continuing and the situation is being investigated.
The company also says it is working with Nalcor and the provincial Occupational Health and Safety division to resolve the issues as quickly as possible.
