Hey Rosetta! marks 10 year anniversary with Folk Fest show
It's one of the province's biggest musical acts, and now Hey Rosetta! is celebrating its 10th anniversary performing together.
The band is on Newfoundland's west coast this week performing in Woody Point, ahead of the Writers at Woody Point festival.
On Friday, Hey Rosetta! is taking the main stage at the 39th annual Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival at Bannerman Park in St. John's.
For the band, it will be a special night.
"The Folk Fest show that we're playing in St. John's on August 7 is exactly 10 years plus one day to our first show we ever played," said frontman Tim Baker.
Every summer we play in beautiful Woody Point, NL. This summer Aug 3 & 4 then St John's Aug 7. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/HR10YR?src=hash">#HR10YR</a> <a href="http://t.co/JJDqhrGUhR">pic.twitter.com/JJDqhrGUhR</a>

"It's pretty hard to imagine, but there it is. It's real."
Baker said it's been a bit of a whirlwind 10 years with the band, but there have been a few stand-out moments — like the band's first show in Asia.
The band performed at an outdoor venue in Shanghai, China at the Canadian Pavilion for the World Expo in 2010.
"It's like they've never seen a rock band before kind of. I can't believe that that's true because I think Shanghai especially is a very modern city, but maybe they haven't come into contact with our sort of thing very much, and so there was this huge myriad of expressions on people's faces," said Baker.
"It was a very fun show. Any time I did any sort of like, rock star move if I kicked my leg up or jump everyone would go crazy."
Baker said Hey Rosetta! plans to bring some older tracks out of the vault to make its Folk Fest performance special for long-time fans.
