2nd man facing 4 new charges in RNC investigation into sexual violence against youths

More charges have been filed against Bruce Escott, 80, who is one of two men already facing charges of sexual violence against children in St. John's.

On Thursday, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary announced four additional charges for Bruce Escott, 80: invitation to sexual touching and sexual assault of a youth male, believed to have occurred between 2008 and 2012, and two counts of sexual assault and forcible confinement of an 18-year-old man, believed to have occurred between 1995 and 1996.

That raises the number charges against Escott to nine since the RNC.

Escott and Tony Humby, 62, already face a litany of sexual assault-related charges stemming from alleged incidents involving multiple youths.

On Tuesday, police laid 11 additional charges against Humby as a result of the ongoing investigation. 

Both men are still in custody, with a court appearance scheduled for July 13.
