Both Corner Brook and Massey Drive are affected by the boil order, which went into effect in the early morning hours.

The city's fire department sent out a tweet around 3:30 a.m. saying they were responding to a call of a chlorine leak at the new water treatment plant..

Just before 11 a.m. the City of Corner Brook said the water treatment plant was cleared of the problem, however the boil order would continue as a precaution.

Officials had previously described the issue as a "small" chlorine leak, and said the boil water advisory was in place just a precautionary measure until proper testing can confirm water quality in the system.

The Grand Falls-Windsor Fire Department also sent in a Hazmat team to assist local crews with the problem.

The boil order will continue until at least Sunday, according to officials with the City of Corner Brook.
