Conception Bay South convenience store held up, suspect with knife fled with cash

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is searching for a man who held up a convenience store in Conception Bay South on Saturday night.

At 11:35, police were dispatched to M.A.E.'s Variety on the Conception Bay Highway in response to an armed robbery in progress.

A lone male in his mid-to-late 20's entered the store wearing a black ski mask and was brandishing a knife.

The RNC said the suspect fled on foot with a small quantity of cash.

Officers and the K-9 unit later located several articles of clothing and the weapon believed used in the robbery.  

The investigation is ongoing.
