Two 82-year-old men dead after collision in southeast

Two 82-year-old men are dead after a collision Tuesday in southeastern New Brunswick, RCMP say.

Both men died at scene of crash near Shemogue that involved two SUVs

Two 82-year-old men are dead after a collision in southeastern New Brunswick, RCMP say.

On Tuesday afternoon, two SUVs collided on Highway 15 near Shemogue, east of Cap-Pelé, at about 3:50 p.m.

The accident happened when a vehicle carrying four passengers, including the two men who died, tried to pass another vehicle and struck an SUV making a left turn into a private driveway.

The two 82-year-old men, one from Kedgwick River in northwestern New Brunswick and the other from Ontario, died at the scene.

The other two occupants of the vehicle, a 69-year-old woman and an 80-year-old woman from Kedgwick, were taken to hospital.

The occupants of the car that was turning, a 36-year-old man and 34-year-old woman, who were both from Moncton, were treated at the scene.
