CN confirms man in wheelchair killed by train in Moncton

CN has confirmed that one of its trains was involved in an accident at a crossing at Lutz Street in Moncton at 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday where a 29 year old man in a wheelchair was fatally injured.

The RCMP say a 29-year-old man in a wheelchair was killed in an accident involving a train at a crossing at Lutz Street in Moncton at 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday.

CN says the train crossing was equipped with lights and gates. 

CN and the RCMP continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.

The RCMP said the man's name will not be released and officers are still trying to determine what happened and why the man was on the tracks.

CN declined an interview at this time.
