Flood risk ends, River Watch 2015 over
Water levels along the St. John River basin well below flood stage, Emergency Measures Organization says
Water levels along the St. John River basin are no longer considered a flooding threat, New Brunswick's Emergency Measures Organization announced on Tuesday.
As a result, the River Watch 2015 spring freshet river forecasting operation has officially concluded, it said.
The River Watch website and the River Watch hotline will no longer be updated.
Environment and Local Government's hydrology centre and Public Safety's Emergency Measures Organization have returned to normal operations of monitoring rivers and approaching weather systems to initiate advisories and forecasting services, as conditions warrant, the statement said.
The St. John River reached flood levels in several areas last month, including Fredericton and Jemseg.
In Perth-Andover, a mandatory evacuation order was put in place and a local state of emergency was declared over concerns about potential flooding.
