Blue skies finally made an appearance Saturday evening as thousands of U2 fans in Moncton gathered at the Magnetic Hill concert site, waiting to see the final concert of the band's 360 tour.

Rain that lasted most of the day left the site full of mud, but that didn't deter the enthusiastic crowds.

U2 was expected to start playing at 9 p.m. AT. Opening acts Irish band Carney took the stage at 6 p.m., and Grammy-winning Montreal band Arcade Fire started just after 7 p.m.

Saturday marks the second anniversary of the tour's kickoff in Barcelona.

The 360 tour has passed the $558-million revenue threshold, making it the highest-grossing music tour of all time.
