11 women arrested in Moncton prostitution bust

Police have arrested 11 women on prostitution offences in Moncton, N.B.

The women are between the ages of 21 and 61. Police conducted the raid in the St. George Street and St. George Street Boulevard area on Thursday.

They said the women were arrested as part of an ongoing investigation.

"Unfortunately, prostitution is often linked to other criminal behaviour which creates a sense of insecurity in the community," said Const. Damien Thériault in a statement.

Police gave few details about the case in a release.
