University administration has reached a tentative agreement with striking student employees at the University of Quebec in Montreal.

Roughly 3,000 teaching assistants and researchers, represented by the union SÉTUE, have been on strike since Dec. 7.

They still need to vote to approve the deal.

The teaching assistants have been without a contract since the end of 2013.

Last week, teaching assistants blocked entrances at UQAM to protest stalled negotiations.

The university then obtained a temporary injunction to guarantee access to its facilities.
