Senior, 89, struck in Montreal parking lot last week has died
No criminal element involved in collision that injured two seniors, say police

An 89-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of a Montreal shopping centre last week has died, local police said on Monday.
Spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) Véronique Dubuc says he died Saturday night.
The man and a 97-year-old woman were walking in the Place Vertu parking lot on April 17, when they were hit by a driver in his 60s while he was moving his vehicle.
Both pedestrians were transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but police say they no longer fear for the woman's life.
Dubuc says investigators with the SPVM's collision unit concluded there was no criminal element involved in the collision.
"The driver of the vehicle made a false manoeuvre when backing up and hit the two pedestrians," she said.
She says information from the investigation has been shared with the Quebec coroner's office.
