Police say death in Longueuil park no longer appears to be criminal
Earlier on Saturday, Longueuil police said there were signs of violence on a body found at Michel-Chartrand Park and they were treating the death as suspicious. However, police later said the death was no longer considered to be a criminal act.
Man in his 30s appears to have taken his own life, police say
Longueuil police say it appears a man whose body was found in Michel-Chartrand Park Saturday morning took his own life.
The body was found by a passerby at around 10:30 a.m., police say, near the intersection of Jean-Paul-Vincent Boulevard and Chemin du Lac.
Earlier on Saturday, police said there were signs of violence on the body and they were treating the death as suspicious.
However, police later said the death was no longer considered to be a criminal act. The man was in his 30s.
The investigation has been turned over to the coroner's office, which will determine the cause of death, police say.
