Montrealers will be able to pay for Bixi rides with Opus cards at 15 locations across the city starting next month as part of a pilot project.

Montreal is one of the first cities in North America to pair its public transit system with its bike-sharing program.

People with STM Opus cards will be able to go to Bixi's website and subscribe to the service, which matches their Opus card number to their Bixi account.

Users still have to pay for Bixis and use their credit card for a deposit. The Opus card will be able to sign out the bike at 15 locations:
