Hells Angels' Trois-Rivières bunker demolished for unpaid taxes

A bunker belonging to a faction of the Hells Angels in Trois-Rivières was demolished on Tuesday after a Quebec Superior Court judge ruled the city could take the land in exchange for unpaid taxes.

"This wasn't a nice sign of commerce to have for a town," said Trois-Rivières Mayor Yves Lévesque, who added that he was happy to remove all signs of the biker gang from the city.

The city will likely sell the land. 

The Missiles motorcycle club owed the city $62,000 in property taxes. The 15 or so bikers moved out in May and took their belongings with them.

"It is a symbol of organized crime," said Jean-Pascal Boucher, a spokesman for the Crown.

"Since its confiscation, it was always our intention to proceed with the demolition as soon as possible."
