A 30 kilometre per hour school zone speed limit will take effect Sept. 1 around 171 schools.
Signs are already popping up in city school zones posting lower speed limits
The lower speeds are effective from 7 a.m. in the morning until 5:30 p.m. in the afternoon, Monday to Friday, September to June.
A Winnipeg city committee voted in favour of lowering speed limits in front of elementary schools in early June.
