The death of a man who was found unconscious in Winnipeg's William Whyte neighbourhood on Saturday is being investigated as a homicide, police say.

The death of a man who was found unconscious in Winnipeg's William Whyte neighbourhood on Saturday is being investigated as a homicide, police say.
A man was found unconscious around 3 p.m. Saturday at a home on Manitoba Avenue, between Charles and Salter streets, after Winnipeg police officers were called for the report of a person in distress, a Sunday news release says.
The man was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.
He has been identified as 35-year-old Robert Clayton Smith, police say.
