Eddie Pepitone is back in Winnipeg for a show at The Park Theatre Friday night.

There's a good mix this weekend, with a comedy legend taking the stage at The Park Theatre, an indie band releasing an album in the West End and an art party in an Exchange District gallery.

Rounding things out, the Winnipeg Art Gallery is screening Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity winners (commercials, it's creative commercials) and letting you see all their galleries for free this weekend.

If you have kids, there's circus stuff at The Forks.

WHAT: COMEDY – Eddie Pepitone

When: Friday, March 24, at 8 p.m.

Where: The Park Theatre at 698 Osborne St.

Cost: $20

Eddie Pepitone is back in Winnipeg for a show at The Park Theatre Friday night.

If the name doesn't immediately ring a bell, you can check him out in pretty much any of your favourite TV shows.

He's been on Community, Netflix's Love, Comedy Bang! Bang!, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Bob's Burgers, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Arrested Development, Happy Endings and about 1,000 others.

Pepitone was in Winnipeg for Oddblock comedy festival a few years ago, and he had, I think conservatively, 80 per cent of the audience cry-laughing.

For some reason, he's decided to come back (likely because Kevin Mozdzen and John B. Duff are very convincing talent bookers), and it looks like there are actually still tickets available.

Go see this if you like comedy and/or laughing.

WHAT: MUSIC – Finn album release

When: Saturday, March 25, at 9 p.m.

Where: The Good Will at 625 Portage Ave.

Cost: $15

Finn has an album release party Saturday night at The Good Will with opening acts Atlaas and Lanikai.

At this point, I've probably sent you guys to five or six of Finn's shows, but they're usually opening for someone else (Close Talker and Iskwé to name a couple).

This time, they're the main act, and they have a full album's worth of music to play.

These guys do indie-pop that kind of has a Local Natives vibe to it, and it'll pair well with Atlaas and Lanikai.

If you're going to go, try to get tickets in advance, because they come with a copy of the album!

WHAT: WATCH – Cannes Lions: Encore

When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Where: The Winnipeg Art Gallery at 300 Memorial Blvd.

Cost: $15

The Winnipeg Art Gallery is showing fancy commercials this weekend with snacks and drinks.

Cannes Lions has this thing called the "Festival of Creativity," which is basically an international advertising competition that gives out awards to the best ads.

They're going to screen those ads at the art gallery this weekend, and while it may sound sort of frivolous, a lot of the winners are often PSAs or ads for important agencies/causes, and many are longer than your typical ad, so it's not just like cutting out the football parts of the Superbowl.

WHAT: KIDS – Festival of Fools at the Forks

When: Saturday and Sunday

Where: The Forks at 1 Forks Market Rd.

Cost: FREE

It's been awhile since I've recommended something fun you can do with your offspring or your friends' offspring, so here is one.

The Forks is doing a bunch of free circus-themed stuff for kids starting Saturday.

There'll be jugglers, clowns, acrobats, trapeze stuff, hula-hooping and circus workshops both days.

There are workshops on starting in the early afternoon followed by performances just for kids.

Bring your little ones to this on Saturday and then bring them to the WAG on Sunday for art and stuff.

WHAT: ART – MAWA cupcake party

When: Sunday, March 26, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: MAWA at 611 Main St.

Cost: $10/advance or $12/door

Mentoring Artists for Women's Art (MAWA) is having its annual art auction and cupcake sale this weekend.

The bidding starts Friday night with an opening party at 6 p.m. That one is free, with bidding continuing Saturday in the afternoon.

Sunday, it all culminates in a cupcake party, which means there will be hundreds and hundreds of different types of cupcakes to try while you check out art and make your final bids.

This one is usually packed, so if you don't like the shoulder-to-shoulder thing you may want to get your art and cupcakes elsewhere.

Bonus

WHAT: ART – Free admission day at the WAG

When: Sunday, March 26, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: The Winnipeg Art Gallery at 300 Memorial Blvd.

Cost: FREE

The WAG is opening up its doors for free on Sunday so you can check out a bunch of their exhibits.

There'll be two art-making things: a drawing thing tied to Canada's 150th anniversary and a painting on glass thing.

And you can get access to the Our Land, Boarder X, Nature Rearranged and View from Here exhibits, so if you haven't had a chance to go, this is a good day.

This one is family-friendly, so feel free to bring the tiny art enthusiast in your life.
