Sex offender released from jail

Winnipeg police warned the public Monday that a convicted sex offender has been released from jail.

Winston George Thomas, 33, is considered at high risk to become involved in further sexual offences, police said in a news release.

He was released from Headingley Correctional Centre on Sunday and is expected to live in Winnipeg.

Thomas participated in some sex-offender treatment programs while in prison, police said, but is still considered a high risk to re-offend.
