The money, for the university's Front and Centre campaign, will go to support essential classroom and laboratory upgrades across the U of M's Fort Garry and Bannatyne campuses.

It is the largest philanthropic gift announced for the fundraising campaign, which launched in November 2014 with the aim to raise $500 million.

"It is the Richardson Foundation's sincere hope that our commitment inspires others who believe in the potential of our students, in this institution and in this province, to step forward and demonstrate their support of the Front and Centre Campaign,"Richardson said.
