Book of condolences displayed at Winnipeg U.S. consulate for former president Jimmy Carter

The United States Consulate in Winnipeg is setting a book of condolences for members of the public to express their sympathy to the family of former U.S. president and longtime human rights advocate Jimmy Carter. 

Members of the public can sign the book on Friday and Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The United States Consulate in Winnipeg is setting a book of condolences for members of the public to express their sympathy to the family of former U.S. president and longtime human rights advocate Jimmy Carter. 

The book will be displayed on Friday and on Monday, Jan. 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the lobby of the U.S. Consulate's office building on 201 Portage Ave.

Carter, who died in Georgia on Sunday, is being remembered in Canada for his work with Habitat for Humanity. 

The former president joined volunteers in different cities across the country, including Winnipeg, where he helped build affordable housing units in 1993 and 2017.
