High-risk sex offender released from Manitoba jail

A high-risk sex offender was released from Headingley Correctional Centre Wednesday, Winnipeg police said.

Winston George Thomas, 37, was most recently arrested in March for breach of probation, but has been previously convicted with two counts of sexual assaults.

Thomas also has two counts of aggravated assault and assault, police said. He has undergone sex offender treatment while in prison, but police still believe he has a high-risk of re-offending and warn women of all ages may be at risk.

Police said Thomas is expected to live in Winnipeg.
