John Blumberg Golf Course is alive for at least another season.

The city announced Friday it's found an operator for the set of links that did not open earlier this spring due to a dispute between the public service and its long-time operator.

The city has found a new operator, a numbered Manitoba company owned by Brian Campbell, who owns South Interlake Golf and Country Club in Warren, Man., city spokesperson David Driedger said in a statement.

Blumberg will reopen May 12, he said.

The course is owned by the city but located in Headingley. Council voted to declare it surplus to the city's needs in 2013 as a prelude to its eventual sale.
