Ottawa and Manitoba are poised to confirm their financial contributions to Assiniboine Park's new gardens and plant conservatory.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's office has slated a Saturday-morning announcement "at the future site of Canada's Diversity Gardens," a $75-million project underway at Assiniboine Park.

The City of Winnipeg has confirmed a $10-million contribution to the project. Manitoba has been asked to contribute $15 million and the federal government has been asked to provide $35 million.

Premier Brian Pallister is slated to attend the Saturday announcement, in a move that signals all three levels of government are supporting the project.

Assiniboine Park Conservancy communications manager Laura Curtis said the non-profit organization that runs the park could not comment prior to Saturday's announcement.
