Man found unconscious after assault in Osborne Village

A 56-year-old man was rushed to hospital in serious condition after being assaulted in Winnipeg's Osborne Village on the weekend, police say.

A 56-year-old man was rushed to hospital in serious condition after he was assaulted in Osborne Village on the weekend, Winnipeg police say.

The man was found unconscious around 9 p.m. Saturday in a parking lot area near the Liquor Mart, Safeway and Shoppers Drug Mart at River Avenue and Osborne Street.

He had serious injuries and was given immediate emergency care by officers before the ambulance arrived, police said.

The attackers were gone before any emergency crews arrived.

The police service's major crimes unit is investigating. Officers ask anyone with information or video surveillance, including dash cam video, to call 204-986-6219.
