3 people dead in East Selkirk, Man., after reports of shots fired
RCMP say no suspect is believed to be at large
Three people were found dead in East Selkirk, Man., on Monday evening, according to RCMP.
Just after 7 p.m. police were called to a report of shots fired at a residence in the small community, 40 km northeast of Winnipeg.
When officers arrived on the scene they found two men and a woman dead.
"Firearms were involved in this incident," said Chief Supt. Mark Fisher in a news release.
"Based on the information known to investigators at this point in time, we do not believe that there is any ongoing risk or threat to public safety. No suspect is believed to be at large."
The RCMP Serious Crime Unit and Forensic Identification officers were on the scene late into the night.
A local resident told CBC News the area was secured by RCMP for a few hours, with officers blocking the area and patrolling all of East Selkirk.
STARS Air Ambulance was also called to the area on Monday night.
