Friends are identifying one of the people found dead in a Proudfoot Lane apartment unit Thursday as a 30-year-old server with a bubbly personality.

Tiffany Gates, 30, was found dead in a sixth floor unit of a 12-storey building at 565 Proudfoot Lane at around 4 p.m. Thursday.

A man who has not been identified was also found dead in the same unit. London police have said there is evidence to suggest the pair were known to each other and have said there is no risk to public safety.

On Saturday, police have not yet announced a cause of death for either person.

"Tiffany is a very popular person, well-loved by everyone. Just a very, very popular, nice and happy person," said Joe Francis, the woman's friend.

Gates was a server at a popular downtown eatery and leaves behind a large group of close-knit friends, Francis said.

"She just served me on Tuesday. She's very bubbly, very fun and very funny. A person who made everyone around her happier — the life of every room she was in. When people are having a down day, they always look to Tiffany to bring them up."

Residents of the Proudfoot Lane building said they didn't know what happened, but that there was a large police presence at the building Thursday afternoon.

Francis asked people to think of Gates' friends, family and co-workers. "There are a lot of people hurting right now," he said. "Everyone is just devastated. It's just beyond words."

Gates' family has asked for privacy stating on a social media fundraising campaign that "her infectious laugh will forever be etched in our hearts."

The London police Major Crimes Unit said Friday that it is continuing to investigate.
