A London woman missing for two years will be remembered on her birthday with a commemorative bench set in a city park where she enjoyed rollerblading.

Shelley Desrochers was last seen in downtown London in early January 2016, but wasn't reported missing until January 21, 2016.

The mother and grandmother, who toes-in when she walks and has a bluebird tattoo, turns 44-years old Sunday.

"At least now I have somewhere to come to remember her," Laura Desrochers said resting on the bench located inside Springbank Park's Rayner Gardens.

"Shelley liked this park and we used to come here to go rollerblading and have sister days."

The family plans to gather at the bench to show support for an investigation that London police continue to pursue.

Earlier this year, officers plastered the downtown and other neighbourhoods Desrochers visited with posters of her image and details of her disappearance.

Investigators said it resulted in close to a dozen new tips.

Her family has not given up hope that they will learn what happened to Shelley. Though her sister said she is critical that the missing person investigation started late, she now trusts that police are doing everything they can.

"They want to figure out what happened to Shelley and they have been in contact with us and we're on top of all the leads," Laura Desrochers said.

The bench will be unveiled Sunday and the Desrochers family hopes Londoners will remember their loved one when they see it.

"It will be a sad day with tears but I hope one day we'll find Shelley."
