'It's putting my skills to the test': Volunteers gear up for Ontario Summer Games kickoff
The opening ceremony will be held at Western University's TD stadium

The Ontario Summer Games are kicking off on Thursday in London.
About 3,500 athletes and volunteers are expected to take part in the event that features 21 sporting categories.
The opening ceremony will take place at the TD stadium at Western University. It will begin at 6:30 p.m.
And it's going to take the help of volunteers to get it going.
"London never has a shortage of volunteers. People are always willing to participate. We set a goal of 1,000 and overachieved it," said Brian Murphy, chair of the volunteer committee.

"It's been an amazing experience. It's putting my skills to the test," said volunteer Kayleigh Scott.
"I've been helping out with basically everything, looking at schedules and creating handbooks. It's a great chance to get involved in the community and see all the athletes," she added.
Many of the volunteers were recruited in February.
"I thought it would be a great way to get out for the long weekend, see some sports and volunteer for my community," said Matthew Davis.
London is expected to see a busy weekend, with friends and families gathering to watch the games.
