Police have charged a London Knights player with several offences, including drunk driving, after a crash in London's south end on Saturday.

Just after 3 p.m. police were called to a single-vehicle crash near Colonel Talbot Road and Clayton Walk. Police were told there was blood on the driver's side door and leading away from the car. A passenger was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police located and arrested the driver at a nearby address.

20-year-old Cameron Allen, a London Knights defenceman, has been charged with impaired driving, impaired operation exceed blood alcohol concentration, failing to remain at the scene, failing to report an accident and blood alcohol concentration above zero as a novice driver.

Originally from Toronto, Allen is a Washington Capitals prospect who was drafted as a fifth-round pick in 2023. He played for the Guelph Storm before joining the London Knights in December.

"We understand that Cam takes this matter very seriously and has assured us that he will fully cooperate with the court process," said London Knights general manager Mark Hunter in a statement Sunday. "Cam understands the responsibility that comes with being a member of this organization and a representative of our community."

The OHL will determine if Allen will receive disciplinary action, the statement said.

Allen is scheduled to appear in court on March 6.
