Jeffery Lang steps down from London Police Services Board to head WSIB
Lang will step into his new role as president and CEO of the WSIB in February

The London Police Services Board will be looking to fill a vacancy as member Jeffery Lang is stepping down to move into another provincial appointment.
Lang, who has been on the board since March 2019, announced his resignation effective Jan. 31, as he takes over the helm of the Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB).
"It has been an honour to serve a community which I love in my role on the London Police Services Board and I have very much enjoyed my time working with the Board and London Police Service Administration, in overseeing the safety and wellbeing of our community," said Lang in a statement. "It is with mixed emotions that I leave my role for this opportunity with WSIB."
The life-long Londoner was also the chair of the board's Finance and Administration Committee since October 2020.
The London Police Services Board has seen the appointment of two new members in the last month and a half.
London lawyer Ali Chahbar was appointed to the board on Dec. 13, stepping into the role of vice chair. Longtime women's rights advocate Megan Walker was appointed as a member of the board on Dec. 23.
Lang will take over the reigns of the WSIB starting Feb. 1., providing leadership for the provincial agency made up of 5,000 employees, overseeing insurance for some 5.6-million workers across Ontario.
The London Police Service Board is now comprised of the following people:
