Man and woman face human trafficking charges following police investigation

London police responded to a call on Feb. 28 from a woman alleging she was held against her own will by a couple at a rental property in the downtown core.

The female victim was allegedly forced to perform sexual acts for money over a 4-day period

London police have arrested and charged a 32-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman in connection to allegations of human trafficking that took place last month. 

On the night of Feb. 28, officers responded to a call from a woman who alleged she was being held against her own will by a couple at a rental property in downtown London.

When officers arrived on scene, police say a woman threatened the victim while holding a knife. The woman, along with a man, were subsequently arrested by police.

During the investigation, it was discovered the victim was forced to perform sexual acts for money at several hotels and rental properties in numerous cities between Feb. 25 and 28. In addition, the victim was allegely assaulted by a male where she sustained minor injuries.
