London Morning's associate producer, Ryan Soulliere, listens to a lot of music for his role, picking tunes for the show. In any given week, that's about 25 songs. Here are his top three local and Canadian picks from last week.

Texas King - Hook Me Up

London's Texas King are on the verge of releasing a new album Ultraviolet and the teaser singles have been a fantastic continuation of what you'd expect from the pop-rock band that leans more towards the rock than the pop. Hook Me Up is laced with catchy guitar riffs and powerful vocals from front-man Jordan MacDonald. Fans of the band will feel right at home with Hook Me Up and it will fit well on your next party playlist or put it on when you want to supercharge your weekend chores. 

Nemahsis - Dead Giveaway

Toronto's Nemahsis is on a roll with some great-sounding music, and now, it has three Juno award nominations. Her nack for writing and delivering catchy songs that shy away from the mainstream is paying off. Dead Giveaway, from Namahsis' album Verbathim, is an earnest take on the grit and determination it takes to succeed without heaps of financial support. The vocals on Dead Giveaway are haunting yet luring and the instrumentation is intricate, blending acoustic and electronic parts seamlessly. Try Dead Giveaway on just about any playlist and let it take you away.  

Tanika Charles - Don't Like You Anymore

Tanika Charles has a new single to preview her next album and it is fantastic. Don't Like You Anymore is a soulful jam that goes beyond the surface of relationships, splitting the fine line between like and love. Charles is known for exceptional song writing and flawless vocals and Don't Like You Anymore is the next addition to her catalogue of great music. Try this slow soul jam on a morning day starter playlist or when you want some tremendous casual music at gatherings. It will impress.
