1 person dead after crash near Norwich

Provincial police are praising the efforts of a person who stopped to help at the scene of a crash outside of Norwich that left one person dead.

Provincial police are praising the efforts of a person who stopped to help at the scene of a crash outside of Norwich that left one person dead.

The crash involved a transport truck and a small SUV and happened at Norwich Road and Base Line, said Oxford OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuck. 

Norwich Road is closed between Hanmer Line and West Quarter Townline Road. Base Line is closed 13th Concession and Caley Road. Drivers are being asked to avoid that area. 

Offering condolences to the loved ones of the person killed, Sanchuk also praised someone who pulled over after the crash. 

"To the good Samaritan who stopped to render aid this morning, thank you. You made a really difficult situation just a little bit easier," he said.
