Evacuation order lifted for Rock Creek residents

Homecoming. It will be heartbreaking for some. A huge relief for others. The evacuees of Rock Creek finally go home. Bob Keating tells us more.

After almost a week out of their houses, people in Rock Creek finally go home.

At least 30 homes and 11 properties have been damaged in the Rock Creek fire in B.C.'s southern Interior. (CBC)

For some it will be heartbreaking. A return to burned homes and farms - scattered livestock. To others a huge relief. Last night the evacuation order was lifted for north of Rock Creek and residents could finally go home.

Before they went in, the CBC's Bob Keating got a tour of the scorched valley. He joins us now to tell us about it.
