Two houses a total loss after multiple-alarm fire on Wilson Street
No injuries were reported
Hamilton firefighters battled a multiple-alarm fire that destroyed two houses on Wilson Street Monday evening.
When crews arrived they found a vacant one-and-a-half storey house fully-engulfed in flames, according to the department.
"The fire spread quickly to the adjoining house and the decision was made to turn to a defensive strategy," stated a spokesperson in an email to CBC who said the alarm was upgraded to bring more firefighters to the scene.
Photos the department shared on Twitter showed an aerial attack, two heavily-damaged homes and clouds of billowing smoke.
