Runners are lacing up for the annual Around The Bay race this weekend — and that means road closures in Hamilton on Sunday.

Here's what's closed and where to watch the runners.

What streets are closed?

Prepare for disruption on York Blvd. on Sunday. The 30 km race starts at 9:30 a.m. on York Blvd. at Bay St N, while the 5 km route begins at 9:45 a.m. in front of FirstOntario Centre.

York Blvd. will be closed from Plains Road to Queen Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, according to the city of Hamilton.

York is also closed from Queen to Bay St. from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bay St. will also be closed Sunday from York Blvd. to King St. from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Burlington Street Overpass (eastbound) will be closed from Parkdale Ave. to Woodward Ave. from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Where should I watch the race?

Want to cheer on the racers? Around the Bay lists the best places to watch them pound the pavement.

Around the 3.2 km mark, you can see the runners while they're fresh at the corner of Victoria Ave. and Burlington St.

To watch the first relay point at the 10 km mark, head near the ramp from Burlington St. to Woodward Ave. N.

Want to see the runners halfway? Go to Beach Blvd. near the Lift Bridge.

At 21 km, the runners will probably need some encouragement. Head to Lasalle Park in Burlington to see them there.

For the final two kilometres, head to Dundurn Castle for the 28 km mark.

The race ends at FirstOntario Centre.

Starting in 1894, the Around the Bay road race is the oldest road race in North America. There will be various people along the course playing music and encouraging the runners, the race website says.
