Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) announced Wednesday afternoon it will be expanding evening and weekend service starting on Sept. 1.

The city also noted it is increasing PRESTO fares by $0.10 on the same day as the service changes.

The city said in a press release that some of the upcoming service changes include:

Some of these routes currently have no Sunday schedule, have Sunday service that ends at around 6:00 p.m., or have hourly evening frequencies.

HSR said the service changes are part of year eight of the city's ten-year local transit strategy.

Additionally, the city said there will be changes coming to bus stops in the Waterdown area, as well as minor stop changes coming to several other routes.
