LaMontagne, Lanois, Harmer and more at 2014 Harvest Picnic
Bruce Cockburn, Los Lobos, Gord Downie, The Sadies, Boris Brott and more will be at Christie Lake
Folk troubadour Ray LaMontagne will be back at this year’s annual Greenbelt Harvest Picnic on the shores of Christie Lake on Aug. 23.
He’ll be joined by mainstay Daniel Lanois, as well as Bruce Cockburn, Sarah Harmer, The Sadies, Los Lobos, Gord Downie and composer Boris Brott. Other acts will be announced closer to the festival’s date.
The grammy-winning LaMontagne last played the picnic in 2011. His new album Supernova was released last Tuesday and debuted at number two on the Billboard charts, garnering many positive reviews.
“This year’s Picnic will be another amazing convergence of musical diversity comprised of artists’ artists,” Greenbelt Harvest Picnic founder Jean-Paul Gauthier said. “The musical collaborations have already begun – this is going to be the coolest Picnic yet.”
Cockburn, Lanois, Harmer and Gord Downie all fit into the festival’s folk/rock mold, and grammy-winning Latin rock band Los Lobos could well prove a highlight with their well-known, energetic live performance.
The Harvest Picnic features produce from local farms, workshops, food trucks, crafts as well as swimming and fishing in Christie Lake.
The Greenbelt Harvest Picnic is happening on Saturday, Aug. 23, from noon to 11 p.m. at the Christie Lake Conservation Area in Dundas.
Tickets are $89.50 plus service fees until May 24, and then $99.50 after. Discounts are available for ages 11 to 15, while children 10 and under get in free.
Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m., at Ticketmaster or at Dr. Disc at 20 Wilson St., and Picks and Sticks, 140 Locke St. S.
