Songwriters debut tunes from inaugural East Coast Music Hour Song Camp at Shivering Songs Jan. 23
Six voices, one creative space
After three days of co-writing and crafting tunes on various themes, songwriters Julie Doiron (N.B.), Rose Cousins (P.E.I.), Jah'Mila (N.S.), Wolf Castle (N.B.), Jake Nicoll (N.L.) and P'tit Belliveau (N.S.) will premiere their works and help kick off Shivering Songs, a midwinter celebration of songwriting and storytelling, at the Fredericton Playhouse on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m.
East Coast Music Hour's Bill Roach will host the event in a song circle format. The Hello Crows from New Brunswick will open the show.
"I'm so excited for the first East Coast Music Hour Song Camp. All six songwriters will spend the three days writing with each other, pushing the boundaries of their own musical genres — folk, rap, indie rock, reggae, country and pop," says Erin Costelo, East Coast Music Hour producer.
"I can't wait to hear the new music that these artists create as they learn from each other and build strong community connections. The culmination of this project will be an exciting live concert on the opening night of Shivering Songs in Fredericton. It's sure to be an unforgettable night of music."
Fredericton's Shivering Songs hosts internationally renowned artists in historic and intimate spaces throughout downtown Fredericton, on the unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik people.
